Founded by Assaad Salama, Ph.D., SSE began as a small team and has since grown into a dynamic firm with over 150 professionals. Dr. Assaad Ibrahim Salama is a pioneering structural engineer and the Founder and Managing Director of Salama Structural Engineers (SSE). With a career spanning over 30 years, Dr. Salama is widely recognized for his technical expertise, academic contribution, and leadership in shaping the region’s skyline.
He holds a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Engineering from Ain Shams University and earned his Ph.D. in Earthquake Engineering from Imperial College London in 1993, specializing in Engineering Seismology. He has remained actively engaged in both research and practice, staying current with global codes and standards, and is a member of leading professional bodies such as the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and the Institution of Structural Engineers (UK).
Since founding SSE in 1987, Dr. Salama has led the firm to become one of the most respected structural engineering consultancies in the MENA region. The firm has contributed to over 130 landmark projects, including 100+ towers across the UAE, as well as significant developments in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Egypt.
Dr. Salama is also deeply committed to mentoring the next generation of engineers and continues to teach and guide junior engineers who train within his organization.
His most recent flagship project, Infinity Tower in Egypt’s New Administrative Capital, is a culmination of his lifelong commitment to structural innovation and engineering excellence. Designed to global standards, Infinity Tower represents his vision for a future where architecture, sustainability, and precision meet—positioning Egypt on the map of world-class commercial developments.
